Pre-Delivery Preparations for Spas & Swim Spas.
Site selection and preparation are your responsibility, carefully read these instructions, and consult us with any doubt.
Your spa will need to be placed on a solid, flat, level foundation, with adequate drainage.
Recommended foundation.
1. 100mm thick reinforced concrete pad
2. A deck built to Australian building standards, (Certified by an engineer), check the weight of your spa, on the specification sheet.
3. Temporarily your spa can be placed on stepping stepping stones, at least 50mm thick and 300mm wide. The spa will settle and become unlevelled, so it is important to get it into a solid foundation as soon as possible.
4. Fine crushed rock
5. Brick surface.
6. For indoor installation, consider all the spacial requirements if you place your spa indoors.
Water will accumulate around the spa, floor material must provide good grip when wet. Proper drainage is essential. Humidity in the room will naturally increase, water may get into woodwork, and produce mildew, plenty of ventilation must be provided to the room, in order to prevent these effects.
- Remember, placing the spa on grass or dirt may increase the amount of debris in the water.
Drainage.
Make sure that the spa or swim spa is to be positioned where there is adequate drainage for any ground water to run off. In this instance we recommend a land drain around the four sides of the spa.
Service access.
All spas and swim spas require access to the service
panel.
We recommend you allow at least 600mm clearance
on all four sides for spas and 900mm for swim spas.
If you are decking around the spa or swim spa, we
strongly advise that you do this after the item has
been delivered.
Swim spas cannot be moved without
a crane, so it is important that they are spaced at
least 900mm from any buildings, fences or retaining
walls to ensure sufficient access to all panels.
When decking around your new pool, we advise
that you place upright supports at regular intervals
around the spa, set back 600mm, then cantilever the
joists so that the deck is self-supporting around the
spa.
Lockable cover
The lockable cover requires a clearance of 100mm
from the top of the spa to the lock fittings to lock
correctly.
Cover lifters.
If a cover lifter is to be fitted, allow 500mm for the lifter to fold back out of the way and 150mm each side for the lifter arm
